The perfect terroir

The Morra family’s story is first and foremost the story of an emotional connection with the land around Castellinaldo and the Roero. The fertile soil of the hills along the left bank of the Tanaro River has been used for agriculture, and particularly vine growing, for centuries. Generations of growers have not been put off by the sandy soils and sometimes extreme slopes.

Instead they have only heightened their creativity and determination, leading to wines rich in fragrance and elegant in structure, known for their enjoyability. Castellinaldo represents a masterful brushstroke within this ideal frame, with its beautifully exposed vineyards, perfect microclimate and long-standing winemaking tradition all contributing to highlighting the distinctive qualities of the area’s three main grape varieties, Arneis, Barbera and Nebbiolo.
